Microsoft is working on an Android 11 update for its Microsoft Surface or dual-screen phone. Surface users will be glad to know about it. You’ll be less satisfied to know that the update will not come up until the summer.
This news was released from Dr. Windows at a presentation in Germany. Windows Central sources say the Android 11 update is coming in the mid of this year.
Microsoft has been dealing with this update since June last year (before the Duo even opened up). The company bought a software company for that, the Microsoft company that is originally creating an Android system 11 for the Surface Duo. Things should have been moving faster with improvement in-house.
Clearly, the reason for delaying the launch is that Microsoft and Google are going to team up to port all developments related to dual-screen activity into the Android core. This news will be a bluster for other creators (upcoming news for LG and Asus, we surmise, not all that great for Surface Duo users).
