A leak appeared recently with the official Galaxy S21 and S21 +. Now, the image of the premium model of the pack, Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G has also come on the web. The phone is featured in “Phantom Silver”, a subtle dual-tone color scheme. Also available in Ultra Black.
Display
The display will measure 6.8”, which is one inch smaller than the S20 Ultra. This is because the panels of the new model are mostly flat – the images show a slight bevel in the front glass, but it is. The back is flattering too. Reducing the curvature means that the new Ultra will be the same size as the old one, despite the smaller display than the fraction. Like the S21, the frame is metallic and the back is glass (the vanilla S21 will have a plastic back). The Dynamic AMOLED 2X display will have 1440p + resolution (20: 9) and 515 ppi pixel density. Samsung will stick with 120 Hz as the top refresh rate. However the display seems to be very power saving for the adapted refresh rate feature. It will be super bright with a top brightness of up to 1,600 nits and it will be protected by Gorilla Glass Victus.
Camera
The component of the trademark design for the S21 generation is the camera bump. And naturally, the Ultra model is getting the best gear. It will be equipped with four modules with an upgraded 108 MP1 / 1.33 ″ sensor with OIS. Unlike the 2020 model, the new one will use laser AF (replacing the 3D TUF sensor). It then has a 12MP ultra-wide module with 1.4 µm pixels, PDAF, and 120 viewing area.
The Ultra will have two telephoto cameras – a 10x folded periscope (10° FOV, 240mm equivalent, f/4.9 aperture) and a traditional fixed 3x telephoto lens (35°, f/2.4). Both will use a 10MP sensor (1/3.24 ″, 1.22mm pixels) and the hybrid zoom will ensure a smooth transition between focal lengths.
The selfie camera has an 80 with 40MP1/2.8 ″ sensor (0.7mm pixels) and autofocus. There will be lenses. As of video, the rear cam will come in at 8K 30 fps with 1080P in 4K 60 fps and 240 fps options.
Chipset and processor
In some regions, the Samsung Galaxy S21 will be powered by the Ultra Exynos 2100 chipset. The CPU will have a prime core of 2.9 GHz, a higher performance core at 2.0 GHz, and a 4x smaller core at 2.4 GHz. The Lexter Roland Quantum suggests that 2100 will be a 7nm chip, although the new Exynos is spread at 10805nm. Although this information may be inaccurate, especially considering that 2100 businesses were hit with Snapdragon 7 on the GeekBench.
RAM and storage
The phone will have 12 GB of RAM; storage capacity will be a choice between 128 GB, 256 GB and 512 GB. The microSD card slot will reportedly be going away, so you’ll have to pick the storage you can live with at checkout.
Battery & others
The phone’s 5,000 mAh battery may support 45W fast charging, but you’ll have to buy your own power brick as there won’t be one in the retail box. No AKG headphones either. Speaking of accessories, you won’t get any besides a USB cable.
